A new election rule put in place this year means that

The Swinomish Tribal Community will hold a first ever
Primary Election. This is because there are two persons
running for Glen Edwards seat.

Primary Candidates Are:

Senator Glen Edwards
J. J. Wilbur
and
Tracy Edwards

Under new election rules established this year the
top two candidates who receive the most votes
in the special primary election will go on to the 
General Council Election, which this year will be
held

will run for this seat.
